Black Stone

The Black Stone, known as the Hajar al-Aswad in Arabic, is a revered Islamic relic embedded in the eastern corner of the Kaaba, the sacred structure at the center of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is an oval-shaped, black, and reddish rock, believed by Muslims to date back to the time of Adam and Eve. According to Islamic tradition, the stone was given to Abraham (Ibrahim) by the angel Gabriel and was originally white but turned black due to absorbing the sins of those who touched it. Pilgrims on the Hajj often strive to kiss or touch the Black Stone, following the example of the Prophet Muhammad. The stone holds immense spiritual significance, symbolizing the connection between the divine and humanity.
